Andrew Beals
Saxophones: Alto, Tenor and Soprano, Clarinet, Flute, Piccolo, Oboe

Mr. Beals, a talented jazz saxophonist, composer and arranger with an exhilarating sound. Based in New York City, Beals, a Rutgers University graduate, gained much of his experience with Brother Jack McDuff and the Heatin' System. Beals' ten years experience with Brother Jack has been marked by extensive tours of North America and Europe, with accolades from critics and audiences alike. As leader of his own ensembles, Beals' music is firmly rooted in the jazz tradition, exhibiting a sophisticated and varied tonal palette. His compositions traverse a broad gamut of musical influences and serve as an effective framework for his "brash and rambunctious solos" and "impressive chops." His extensive experience as a soloist, and his accessible and engaging compositions should endure and capture jazz enthusiasts.
